Trust & Security

How Voizly secures your calls

Voice calling is sensitive. Voizly is built on standards-based VoIP — the same technology used by enterprise PBXs and carrier interconnects — with encryption on the call path, virtual caller IDs to protect your real number, and no audio storage by default.

🔒
Encrypted in transit

TLS for signalling, SRTP for the audio stream, all the way to the Voizly gateway.

🎭
Virtual caller ID

Your real number is never shown. Recipients see your assigned Voizly virtual number.

🚫
No audio storage

Call audio is not stored unless you explicitly enable recording before the call.

The call path, explained

When you place a call from the Voizly app or web widget, the call goes through three legs:

  1. Your device → Voizly gateway: SIP signalling uses TLS. Audio uses SRTP (encrypted RTP). Even on public Wi-Fi, the call cannot be eavesdropped at the network layer.
  2. Voizly gateway → destination carrier: Voizly hands the call to a licensed local interconnect in the destination country. From this point on, the call is on the standard PSTN — the same network used by every traditional phone call. Standard telco controls apply.
  3. Destination carrier → recipient's phone: The call rings the recipient's mobile or landline normally. They see your virtual Voizly caller ID — never your real number.

What Voizly does not do

  • We do not store the audio of your calls (unless you enable recording).
  • We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or third parties.
  • We do not store payment card details — these are handled by PCI-compliant payment processors.
  • We do not access your microphone outside of an active call.
  • We do not provide untraceable "anonymous" calling. All calls comply with our Terms of Service; abusive use leads to account termination.

Web app security

voizly.in serves all traffic over HTTPS with HSTS preloaded (max-age=63072000, includeSubDomains, preload). We send the full set of modern security headers — X-Content-Type-Options, X-Frame-Options, Referrer-Policy, and Permissions-Policy — to harden the browser against common attack classes.

The microphone Permissions-Policy is set to allow microphone capture only from the same origin (voizly.in itself) and only when actively requested by the call widget. No third-party iframe can access your mic.

Reporting a security issue

If you believe you've found a security issue with Voizly, please email voizly.in@gmail.com with details and reproduction steps. We acknowledge reports within 2 business days. Please do not publicly disclose the issue until we've had a chance to investigate and remediate.

Security FAQ

Are my Voizly calls encrypted?+

Yes. Voizly uses TLS for SIP signalling and SRTP for the audio media stream. The call between your device and the Voizly gateway is encrypted end-to-end at the transport layer. Once a call leaves the Voizly gateway and enters the destination's PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network), it is carried by the destination carrier — at that point standard telephone network controls apply.

Where are calls routed?+

Voizly uses geographically distributed SIP gateways to route calls to the destination via licensed local interconnects. We do not store the audio of your calls. Call metadata (from-number, to-number, duration, timestamp) is retained only as required for billing and dispute resolution.

Does the recipient see my real phone number?+

No. Voizly assigns a virtual caller ID number to your outbound calls. Your personal mobile number is never exposed to the recipient.

What happens to my account data?+

Account data (phone number used to sign up, email, credit balance, call history) is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell personal data. Payment card details are handled by PCI-compliant processors (Stripe / our regional gateway) and never stored on Voizly servers.

Are call recordings stored on Voizly servers?+

Only if you explicitly enable call recording before a call. Recordings are stored on your account and accessible only to you. You can delete recordings at any time. Calls without recording enabled are never stored as audio.

How is microphone access handled?+

The Voizly app and web widget only access your microphone while a call is actively in progress. Microphone access is requested explicitly by your browser or operating system. Voizly does not capture audio outside of an active call.

What about the recording laws in my country?+

Call recording laws vary by jurisdiction. In many countries (e.g., USA two-party consent states, the EU, Canada, India for some uses) you must inform the other party that the call is being recorded. You — the user — are responsible for compliance with local recording consent laws when you enable the recording feature.
